My thoughts and progress about my works

I was commissioned to do this 24” x 30” oil for a 6 year old boy. His mom wanted something done in oil so he could have it the rest of his life. Her main request was that the background be royal blue. I found it to be very challenging to get the angle correct, the dimension of the hoop to the ball. As I painted the ball I was determined to make it look round before I added the design to the ball. I think I succeeded. She was very happy with the finished product - shown on right. The net was the biggest challenge of all as I noticed a huge mistake in it after I was finished painting - or thought I was finished. It was more easily remedied than I thought but at the time I couldn't believe I hadn't seen it earlier.
